520			_a21.yüzyılın küresel sorunları, değişen toplumsal yapı ile yalnızca pozitif bilimleri değil aynı zamanda sosyal bilimler, beşerî bilimler ve tasarım alanlarını da etkilemektedir. Bu karmaşık sorunların çözümü için tek bir disiplinin bilgisi yetersiz kalmaktadır. Bu nedenle, dünyada disiplinler arası etkileşimi sağlayabilecek yeni akademik yaklaşımlar ortaya konulmuştur. Transdisiplinerlik de bu yaklaşımlardan biridir. İklim meseleleri, sürdürülebilirlik, mülteci sorunları gibi küresel sorunların çözümü için ortaya konan transdisipliner yaklaşım; disiplinlerin ortak bir çalışma yürüterek bu küresel sorunlara bütüncül bir bakış açısıyla bakılması gerektiğini savunmaktadır. Sadece akademik bir yaklaşım değil, aynı zamanda bir davranış ve tutum olan transdisiplinerliğin kavram olarak anlaşılması, Türkiye’de ve dünyada tasarım eğitimindeki yerinin belirlenebilmesi bu tez çalışmasının odak noktasını oluşturmaktadır. Türkiye’de transdisipliner yaklaşımla ilgili çalışmaların başlangıcı niteliğinde olan bu tez ile transdisiplinerliğin tasarım eğitimi alanında yeni bir bakış açısı oluşturması ve Türkiye’deki tasarım eğitiminin bu konuda dünyanın önde gelen ülkelerinden biri olması yolunda ilerlemesine katkı sağlanması hedeflenmiştir.
520			_aThe global problems of the 21st century affect not only the natural sciences but also the social sciences, humanities and design fields with the changing social structure. The knowledge of a single discipline is insufficient to solve these complex problems. Thus, new academic approaches to interdisciplinary interaction in the world have been introduced. Transdisciplinarity is one of these approaches. The transdisciplinary approach, to address global issues such as climate issues, sustainability and refugee issues, argues that these global problems should be looked at from a holistic perspective by conducting a joint study of disciplines. Transdisciplinarity is not only an academic approach but at the same time its a manner and attitudes. Focal point of this thesis is to understand the concept of transdisciplinarity and to determine Turkey’s place in design education in the world. With this thesis, which is the beginning of the work related to the transdisciplinary approach, is aimed to create a new perspective in the field of design education in Turkey and to contribute to progress towards the becoming one of the world’s leading countries on the subject of transdisciplinary design education.
