"Sosyo-Ekonomik Gelişmişlik Sıralaması Araştırmaları (SEGE) politika, strateji ve kamu uygulamalarına girdi sağlamak amacıyla Türkiye’deki Düzey-2 bölgelerinin, illerin ve ilçelerin sosyo-ekonomik gelişmişliklerini nesnel olarak ölçen ve karşılaştıran analiz çalışmalarıdır. Çalışmalarda, sosyo-ekonomik gelişmişliği ölçen değişkenler kullanılarak Düzey-2 bölgelerinin, illerin ve ilçelerin gelişmişlik düzeyleri istatistiksel tekniklerle analiz edilmekte ve söz konusu birimlerin gelişmişlik sıralaması ortaya konmaktadır."
