Literatürde Rüstem Paşa’ya atıfla “Rüstem Paşa Tarihi” olarak bilinen; fakat yapılan tedkikler neticesinde eserin Kanunî devrinin önemli simalarından Matrakçı Nasuh’a ait olduğu ortaya çıkan Târîh-i Âl-i Osmân, devletin kuruluşundan 1561’e kadar gelen genel bir Osmanlı tarihidir. Minyatür, silahşörlük ve tarih sahasındaki eseriyle tanınan Matrakçı Nasuh, söz konusu kronikte bizzat içinde yaşadığı devri ve hâdiseleri kaleme almıştır. Dr. Göker İnan tarafından yayına hazırlanan Târîh-i Âl-i Osmân iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde eserin müellifinin kim olduğu mevzusu etraflı bir şekilde tartışılmış ve kronik yazarının Rüstem Paşa değil; Matrakçı Nasuh olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise Avusturya Milli Kütüphanesi Cod. Mixt. 339 ve İstanbul Üniversitesi Nadir Eserler Kütüphanesi TY 2438 numaralı nüshalar esas alınarak Târîh-i Âl-i Osmân’ın tenkitli metni günümüz harflerine aktarılmıştır. |
