Şemseddin Sami’nin en önemli eserlerinden Fransızca-Osmanlı Türkçesi lügat olan Resimli Kâmûs-ı Fransevî (I. Cilt), Dr. Şerif Eskin tarafından yayına hazırlandı.<br/><br/>Yayımlandığı dönem itibarıyla eserin iddiası, sıradan bir yabancı dil kaynağı olmanın ötesinde modern bilim dilini kuşatmak ve kapsamlı bir başvuru kaynağı hâline gelmekti. Kâmûs-ı Fransevî, alanında ilk ve en önemli örnekler arasındadır. Şemseddin Sami’nin bu yâdigârı özellikleri dolayısıyla bir döneme damgasını vurmuş olmakla birlikte hâlâ güncelliğini de koruyan bir klasik olarak düşünülebilir. |
